Our Upcoming Webinar Events: What could you discover?

We held a successful webinar event to start off the year on January 8th 2021 discussing fostering and answering your questions about the foster and adoption process. Here at My Foster Family we want to aid you in giving you the support you need to successfully foster a child. We believe that bridging the gaps that are currently existent in the industry is paramount when it comes to having more foster carers from Black and Asian backgrounds. We welcome all enquiries from anyone interested in fostering and hope that you will find out upcoming webinars beneficial to your individual fostering journey.

Whether you are considering becoming a foster carer, need more clarification on certain aspects of fostering or simply want to find out what the experience is like our fostering webinars aim to answer all your questions.

Due to the current nature of the pandemic we are unable to hold in house events or our annual events at mosques for Foster Friday. However, just last year we had over 60+ mosques participating in Foster Friday events all across the country at London Central Mosque, North Finchley Mosque, Hounslow Central Mosque and many more.

There is an urgent need to recruit more foster carers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities to meet the cultural and religious needs of children coming into care.

My Foster Family, a bespoke not-for-profit recruitment and training organisation aims to attract a significantly wider range of carers into fostering and had a successful campaign last year with Foster Friday events being held up and down the country.

There is a growing concern regarding the national shortage of foster carers, with The Fostering Network estimating that some 8,000 foster families will be needed over the next 12 months. This means it is particularly important to reach communities who are less likely to consider becoming foster carers.

Shadim Hussain, CEO of My Foster Family, said: “There is currently a significant shortage in foster carers from the Muslim community. Foster Fridays give the community a chance to learn more about fostering from an Islamic perspective and aid individuals who want to transform a child’s life through fostering.”

Our upcoming webinars are on the following dates:

February 12th 2021 at 8pm via Zoom

March 12th 2021 at 8pm via Zoom
